Dallas: Re “Victoria Secret model Cameron Russell
gives TED talk on why girls shouldn’t want to be supermodels”
(NYDailyNews.com, Dec. 17): Russell has no right to deny young girls a
dream that she herself has achieved. Rather than encouraging girls’
ambitions, she squashes them under a 4-inch heel. I realize that the
likelihood of striking the genetic jackpot is slim and the chance of
success in the fashion industry is slimmer, but that is the magnificence
of a dream. The very foundation of a dream is the elusiveness of the
goal. For Russell to degrade the credibility of her profession is
