In response to Cameron Russell's TED talk.....

Not exactly model behavior
Dallas: Re “Victoria Secret model Cameron Russell gives TED talk on why girls shouldn’t want to be supermodels” (, Dec. 17): Russell has no right to deny young girls a dream that she herself has achieved. Rather than encouraging girls’ ambitions, she squashes them under a 4-inch heel. I realize that the likelihood of striking the genetic jackpot is slim and the chance of success in the fashion industry is slimmer, but that is the magnificence of a dream. The very foundation of a dream is the elusiveness of the goal. For Russell to degrade the credibility of her profession is incomprehensible. Mary Margaret Hancock
